Good but noisy
June 27, 2026So far an excellent unit. However, there was an issue with noise that was fixed and another issue with first stage turn on that hadn't been fixed yet. When the unit was first installed,I had a vibration noise that made the first stage much noisier than the second stage running. The installer, whom I have a good relation with, fixed that even though I still think the first stage noise is louder than my previous unit from another manufacturer. However, the start up of the compressor on first stage is still annoying. It is ker-plunk that can be heard throughout the house and can drop the lights in the house. Shouldn't this have a soft start on all motors? My installer is coming out again to see if anything can be done and we will see. I will only update this review if it gets fixed and was not a fault of the unit. I am happy with the cooling and efficiency of this unit but the noise problems are an issue. My old unit was as good at cooling and was way quieter.
