While most heat pumps are single stage, meaning they're either on or off, this heat pump can heat or cool at two different speeds. Most of the time the unit will meet cooling needs at its lower speed, resulting in balanced and consistent temperatures with lower energy use.

Lennox Two Stage Heat Pump
September 11, 2026We had a Rheem 4 Ton Prestige unit for 12 years and it worked great until it didn’t! At the time we thought it was super Efficient, especially at removing moisture, and compared to our previous unit( Bryant 3.5 Ton Single Stage).it was! Now we are set permanently set to 79 degrees and our Lennox has our humidity level constantly at 43%, which is better than our Rheem ever did! I haven’t yet been able to compare Electric Usage because we are not yet one Month into our Lennox (installed on 8/18/26). Overall, we are very Happy with our decision to go with a Two Stage unit and can offer a 100% Satisfaction Report to date. Very quiet system also compared to the Rheem! Steve R
