High Efficiency Variable Capacity A/C
April 04, 2026I replaced my 36-year old single-stage Carrier air conditioner with the Lennox EL22KCV variable capacity condensing unit. So far, I am quite satisfied with its performance and ability to keep a consistent comfort level. With its advanced inverter technology, it allows the outdoor compressor motor and indoor air handler blower motor to operate at variable-speeds to automatically adjust the cooling output as needed to precisely maintain the desired temperature and humidity. This is unlike my old system where it runs at single-speed and either runs at full-blast with maximum cold air out the vents or cycles off completely resulting in temperature fluctuations. The Lennox system runs so gently and quietly at most time that I can’t even hear it running while it continuously successfully maintains the temperature and ideal comfort level. I’ve had the new system for only 3-months, but we recently had above 100-degree outside temperatures for several days here in Southern California, so I had an opportunity to put the new unit for a true functional test and was impressed with its performance. I know this unit has many innovative advance electronics and controls that can potentially go wrong. But so far so good. If this new Lennox unit stays or proves to be reliable with no major breakdown or issues in the near future, I can attest that this is a remarkable air conditioner with magnificent features that I enthusiastically recommend.

quiet and efficient
April 02, 2026I can not say enough positive things about this air conditioner. The biggest thing is the variable power, It's hard to tell when it is running. I can enjoy my back yard without hearing the roar of the air conditioner.
