Be A Vigilant Consumer

Although our new heat pump and air handler are working fine now, there was a period after initial installation during which, unbeknownst to us, a manufacturing defect inside the air handler was causing the refrigerant in the system to escape. It took us a while to figure out that the system was not actually cooling or heating, in part because of the changes in our local weather and in part because the escape of the refrigerant into the atmosphere did not happen all at once. Ultimately, the installing company came right away once we called and they spent an entire day locating the problem and repairing the system.
