What is a geofence and does it work with multiple people in the house?

A geofence is a GPS mapped geographical boundary around the home which is used within the Smart Away feature.

Yes, it can support multiple smart phone users living in the same house. The thermostat will listen to geofence changes from all the smart phones and determine the setpoints for the home based on each user's approximate location (or geofence) and Smart Away settings.
