Yes, your s40 thermostat needs to be connected to wi-fi for you to connect it to alexa. you can connect your s40 to wi-fi by going to menu > settings > wi-fi on your thermostat's home screen. slide the option to the on position to enable wi-fi. then select 'not connected' to display a list of available access points. select your home wi-fi network, enter the password, and select 'join' to continue. for more detailed instructions, please refer to the document '508223-03a.pdf'.
