This year, Lennox makes it easier than ever to support Movember. Simply share social media content and Lennox donates. It's the simplest good deed you'll do all year.
The Movember Mission
Movember is a movement to bring awareness to men's health issues that often go overlooked. To show support for Movember, men will forego shaving and grow a moustache during the month. Participants are also encouraged to start moustache-growing "teams" to solicit donations from family members and friends.
The Mo the Merrier
This will mark our second year supporting the Movember effort, and we're proud to be a part of it. Last year, we promised to donate $1 every time someone shared or liked #Movember content from a Lennox® social media page. This year, we're upping the ante. But mo on that in a moment.
A cause that's close to our hearts. And faces.
There are two main reasons that we support Movember, and encourage our customers and dealers to do the same. First, our founder, Dave Lennox, had a moustache, and he continues to wear one prominently in our advertising and promotional materials. So we already look the part. But there's so much more to it than that.
The second and most important reason that we support Movember is because it gives us all a chance to work together to draw attention to men's health issues that often fly under most people's radar.
These are serious issues, often hidden or ignored because men are supposed to just "tough it out" and suffer in silence. Yet these issues, including prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health, can ruin quality of life or worse. Consider these facts:
- 1 in 2 men will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime
- Prostate cancer is the second-most common cancer in men in the United States
- More than 233,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year
- Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men aged 15-35
- 12% of men 18 and older are in fair or poor health
- Around 15 million Americans will be diagnosed with depression this year
It's obvious something has to be done. And we invite you to help do it.
You don't have to do much to make a difference.
This year, Lennox is using social media as the base for its Movember campaign. This not only lets us get our message out to a wider audience, but it also makes it incredibly easy for Lennox dealers, customers and followers to support the cause. For every Facebook like or share, every Google+ share or +1, every Twitter retweet, every video view or channel subscribe on YouTube on any of Lennox' channels , Lennox will donate $2 to the Movember Foundation. With every Instagram photo uploaded with #faceresponsibility, Lennox will donate $5 to the Movember Foundation. That's money that goes directly to the causes supported by Movember.
