Rated 5 out of 5 by RSinAZ Two units installed. I live in Arizona and the heat is blistering here. I recently had 2 XP21 systems installed at my house. They are very quiet while keeping my home comfortable. I highly recommend. November 22, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by sammy11 Wow, welcome to the 21st Century! Nice system. The fans in the attic can be regulated from the Wi-Fi thermostat. This is good due to differences in existing ducting and required ducting. (i.e.) replacing an old system. I am going to slide a barstool up to the thermostat so I can pilot the Enterprise. What a difference in technology, and what a savings on electricity! What fun...get one. April 9, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Cape Lousy product. First problem it was not quiet until repairman made a fix. Second problem it had a part blow out while we were on vacation. That problem although known by the company to exist it was not fixed until the problem occurred at our house. It took a simple little round black sticker to prevent the problem from happening again, after the furnace was repaired. Next time a circuit board blew out because of a storm. The company had to take our old board so it could be studied to determine what caused the problem. They knew what happened because they already had a new board. During this latest mid-Atlantic storm our furnace received and error message. I was able to get someone on the phone who told me the possible problem and had me turn on the emergency heat. A service tech was not available because of the storm. On Friday the tech arrived and found that an entire board had blown so it was more than the first tech had thought. In his defense he was not able to see the heat pump. A new board was not immediately available so a service call is set for Monday to replace this board. We have learned that this particular model has had a lot of problems since it was first produced. We had been told at the time we purchased it that it was a new top of the line product. I am highly disappointed in the product, although I will admit the service men have been very good. For the amount of money paid I feel the whole product should be replaced. The product has also not produced the amount of heat we were promised or the house coverage we were promised. February 16, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by BC19380 Overall, seems to be a solid unit, but noisy Have operated the system for 4 months, both in cooling and heating mode. This 3 ton rated heat pump system seems to put out much more heat than our previous 3 ton system. I note the backup electric resistance heaters rarely come on, even at 10F ambient. The outdoor unit is noisy; agree if you stand 10 feet away horizontally it is relatively quiet. But vertically, much of the fan noise is heard and transmits through second story bedroom window and wall. There is also much vibration in the refrigerant lines which partially transmits through house structure. February 12, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by StephenM Big savings on electric bill. This is the first time I have ever purchased a 2 stage heat pump and am so glad I did. The unit runs at low speed the majority of the time it's on and my electric bills have dropped significantly; some months up to 40%. The air handler is in the house near our family room and we barely hear it running. The best feature I think is being able to set and control the humidity level for the house. Lower humidity = a much more comfortable home without having to freeze everyone out during the summer. I highly recommend this system to anyone. November 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Will82 It really is "State of the Art" the Ultimate Heat Pump This system has really improved our comfort in the home while cutting our utilities by over 25%. It also cleans and purifies the air throughout the whole home. And being able to control it precisely from anywhere n our cellphone is a huge added benefit. We love our new Lennox system it was worth every penny and then some. June 6, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Charles24 Nice system This system has lowered my electric bill two months in a row. It runs quietly. We had a drain backup last week, and the thermostat disabled so I would have to call for service instead of letting the unit keep running. This likely saved my flooring. If the unit would have kept running, it would have leaked water. Energy efficiency, icomfort thermostat, and financing incentives were my reasons for purchasing this system. April 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fess WOW Replaced a 22 year old heat pump with this one, was going to get the XP17 but rebates brought price down on the XP21 to essentially the same so went with the top of the line. It is amazingly quiet outside, also has the 2 stage blower in the garage which you barely hear also. Use to be able to hear the air blow inside the house with the old pump, no more with this one. Also upgraded to the carbon filtration system, also wonderful. Takes smells out of the house fast, also has decreased house dust by 80% and I was using 3M allergen filters before which are suppose to be one of the better filters out there. Love my new purchase! *This chart compares the 5-year savings you can expect from a 18.20 SEER/9.70 HSPF heat pump vs. existing equipment with a 10.00 SEER/6.80 HSPF rating and industry-standard equipment with a 13.00 SEER/7.70 HSPF rating. The region used to calculate household fuel and utility costs reflect a cross-section of cities in the U.S. In addition to geography, cooling costs are based on 3-ton capacity specifications, with 800 cooling hours, 2,250 heating hours per year and 11.62 cents per KWh (Source: EIA National average electric rate-Rolling 12 months ending July 2009). Your actual costs will vary depending on the weather, local fuel rates, system settings and your personal lifestyle.
