Rated 4 out of 5 by Rich5310 Works great, but no emergency heat.. Can we purchase an electric heat package for this unit that will fit in a home crawl space? February 17, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by gail322 disappointed with Lenox We purchased a new Lenox heat pump 2 years ago. Our goal was a more efficient less costly to run new unit. Within a few weeks the defrosting board unit failed, the original unit was replaced at this time. The 3rd defrosting unit failed last week. We are retired with limited income. We should have stayed with the old unit that never had any problems. We are very upset and concerned about continued outlays of large fees to maintain this unit. We are considering having the new heat pump removed and going with another brand. We are being forced to purchase a very expensive maintenance plan to cover the use of this product if high cost repairs continue every 2 years. Something is terribly wrong with this heat pump and should corrected by Lenox February 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by TrinityAC Great Product Very dependable product with a very simple defrost control system and a easy to troubleshoot design. This is by far the best heat pump model on the market. February 2, 2014

Rated 4 out of 5 by Tearuup Noise at start-up Just had Lennox xp14 heat pump installed last week. Works great and we are very pleased with how quiet it is. We can't even hear it running. The problem is when it starts it makes a very loud grinding noise that lasts about 2 to 3 seconds. Is this anything to be concerned about? July 7, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by BigBoy11 Superior Heat Pump The XP14 is a great heat pump that is quiet, efficient and relatively inexpensive. We had ours installed 2 weeks ago and what a difference! Our old unit sounded like a threshing machine compared to this Lennox and the air distribution is far superior with no "hot" or "cold" spots from certain vents as in the old unit. We were pleasantly surprised at the total installation cost of a whole new unit especially for a heat pump with the reputation of Lennox. June 24, 2013
*This chart compares the 5-year savings you can expect from a 16.00 SEER/9.50 HSPF heat pump vs. existing equipment with a 10.00 SEER/6.80 HSPF rating and industry-standard equipment with a 13.00 SEER/7.70 HSPF rating. The region used to calculate household fuel and utility costs reflect a cross-section of cities in the U.S. In addition to geography, cooling costs are based on 3-ton capacity specifications for DOE heating region 4, with 800 cooling hours, 2,250 heating hours per year and 11.62 cents per KWh (Source: EIA National average electric rate-Rolling 12 months ending July 2009). Your actual costs will vary depending on the weather, local fuel rates, system settings and your personal lifestyle.
**Must be accompanied by either a variable speed air handler or furnace and the ComfortSense® 7000 Series touchscreen thermostat.
